they are pretty good if you get used to them. Good luck and i hope you give them a chance. but dont know the buttons to command them. Shotguns, pistols and PWD are not so good in my opinion in the hands of a bot.Īnd never ever give a bot a grenadelauncher. minigun and autogun is hard to give ammo to a bot cause every bot will jump on a box like it was BACON. healbeacon will be only used if you tell the bot to do it or drop it yourself as the char. Healgun will be used if someone drops under 50% of his health. and best thing would be to kill most/all aliens I dont play with bots, but i know that you need to go slower with them. You can switch also with the F1 to F8 buttons and place ammo with the bot. but be carefull if thes have extra items like mines or teslacoil. If you use bots take ammo for every secoundary slot (not medics) and press the the numbers from 2 to 8 for placing ammo. they will stand there and will die for the team if you forgett them. also you can tell them to cover to the right direction. If you fail with bots you are not using them right. Dosnt mean you have to play brutal, but im sure there are a lot of tips that will apply to any difficulty (best characters to use/loadouts etc.):

I wouldnt rule out multiplayer too, even if just to learn the game a bit and see tactics players use. If all you want is lvl 34 you can reset your promotion level to make 0-34 easier. I dont think they damage you though, but im inecperienced with bots too so i could be wrong.įor what its worth though, from what ive read, and seen on updates, Reactive Drop has vastly improved the bots ai, as well as just making it possible to add bots at a click of a button rather than needing to know console commands as was the case in Alien Swarm. I did that through promotion 3, made the mistake of putting myself to rank 4, and just really dont have the inclination to grind 34 lvls again. And if they are shooting you then justy move around a bit to reposition everyone, you are likely blocking their line of fire. You really should never run out of ammo on normal if you have bots there to help you, as they should really be equipped with ammo crates as their secondary item. Personally if i was you i would go to the community guides section if you really only want to play single player with bots, and get some tips and hints there.
I dont mean to be 'that guy' but according to your profile you have less than 3 hours playtime if you combine Alien Swarm and Reactive Drop. To be honest with you, if you are running out of ammo on normal, and struggling to beat maps despite having bots, its much more likely your inexperienced with using them.
